WELCOME! I’m Vic Brown.

I am a writer who focuses primarily on the issues found at the intersection of business, higher education and policy.

My perspectives are informed by three decades of experience in the international chemical industry with FMC Corporation, followed by another thirteen years on the faculty and staff of Ursinus College. I leverage this background to contribute to the discussion of how to apply best management practices to higher education, and to assess how government policy can help or hinder higher education development.

In addition to this primary area of emphasis, I also write about technology, society and the human experience. Institutions of higher education live in this dynamic environment, and need to evolve in order to prepare students for a world of rapid and exciting change. Any discussion of higher education practices must occur within this broader context.

My personal blog is hosted on this site, and at the end of each individual blog you will see a way to sign up for automatic delivery of new blog posts to your inbox.

I also publish commentaries in various media, most notably National Review, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the James G. Martin Center for Academic Renewal, and SeeThruEdu. All of my commentary pieces are also linked to this site, and I hope you enjoy reading them.

I also am available for specific contract writing assignments, as well as short-term project consulting work for various organizations, focusing primarily on organizational development and individual management development.

Just published! Practical advice for developing the personal skills and behaviors needed for both college and career success!
